Creek Copper Earrings

Some pieces reward the people who look closely. I made these for the women who appreciate the quiet work inside a thing - the teardrop form shaped first from a single length of copper wire, then wrapped along its lower half one winding at a time, each coil placed tight against the last until the full section is covered and the piece becomes what it was always going to be.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years by people who needed something steady and flowing in their lives, and the ones who come back to me always say the same thing: it just feels right in a way they stopped trying to explain.

These are among the last earrings I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find the ears that notice the details.
